FMG practices are underway, and the teams are both looking good. We have  new crop of rec paddlers, but if the first practice is any indication, we will do just fine!

A few weeks to go, and we will have a number of practices to hone our skills, so its full steam ahead!

One down!

With the MPA event in the record books, we now move toward getting into the bigger, heavier FMG boats to prepare for their event in September. MPA was a blast and we recorded our best time ever for this event. Well done Boogie’s, and congrats to all the other crews that entered this fun and challenging event.

Upcoming events calendar

If you have noticed that the “upcoming events” (team calendar) function is not working, you are correct! Adam is working on setting up a better calendar and I’m sure everything will be peachy keen again very soon.

On our way…

Well, now that the fundraiser is over, we concentrate on getting into the water.

The fundraiser was way too fun!       Thanks to all for making it a success.

FMG/ CCS event

Well, it’s almost time for the 2009 Canadian Cancer Society “Manitoba Dragon Boat Festival”, (Sept. 11-13 at The Forks) and all the 120+ teams are in the home stretch in preparation.
Judging by the practices, there looks to be a lot of very talented teams entered this year! Should make for a very interesting event.
Boogie’s Draggin’ Butt wishes all teams entered the best of luck.

MPA results

Congrats to the Boogies entry into the recent MPA competition in Transcona. We had paddlers from both the rec and competitive team in this event, and our squad had an “interesting” weekend, but managed to win the “D” Division. Read the rest of this entry »
